Is there a business in your community that focuses on sustainability, ethical sourcing, or fair trade? By committing your dollars to these businesses, you’re helping transform the marketplace to reward a more expansive bottom line—one that values people, the planet, and profit.
Use your Influence
Talk about your approach to building a community-centered future by supporting entrepreneurship with your network. Share your purchase on social media, reshare your favorite entrepreneur’s posts, write a review, and recommend local businesses to friends. Word of mouth is often the best way to support small businesses, and it doesn’t cost anything! Sharing your approach encourages others to consider the power they hold with their dollar.
Build it Into your Daily Routine
Use this day as a reminder to consider small adjustments to your daily routine. Is there a conveinent weekend farmer’s market where you can purchase your produce? Can you rethink your go-to coffee shop or bookstore? Is there a candle company you can purchase your birthday gifts from throughout the year? Small Business Saturday doesn’t have to be a one-day event – it’s an opportunity to turn your values into year-round action.
